COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Due to the impending inclement weather, Maryland has adjusted its upcoming spring football practice schedule.
The Terps will work out at 1 p.m. ET Sunday instead of 10 a.m. Saturday at the on-campus practice facility. The session will conclude the second week of spring practice.
The team is scheduled to practice each Tuesday (4 p.m.), Thursday (4 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.) leading up to April 26 when the Terps play host to the annual Red-White Spring Game.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. from Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium. Coach Ralph Friedgen and the players will be available from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for an autograph session in the stadium.
The spring game is the culmination of Maryland Day, a family celebration which takes place on campus. All events surrounding Maryland Day are free. Click here for the athletics schedule during Maryland Day.
Practice sessions are closed to the general public, though members of the Maryland Gridiron Network and Terrapin Club, as well as players' parents and University of Maryland students, are allowed to attend the workouts.
Terp Notes:
Terrapins Rising Returns: `Terrapins Rising,' a reality television show chronicling spring practice, will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of a major college football program for the second straight season. The show is a first of its show of its kind at the collegiate level. The 10-episode series, which was being presented by Under Armour, begins on June 16 and airs weekly each Monday on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. Footage for the show will be shot throughout the five weeks of spring practice. `Terrapins Rising' is the result of a partnership between Maryland Athletics, Under Armour and Atkinson Productions. A film crew, led by former University of Maryland and Washington Redskins place-kicker Jess Atkinson, will follow the team. The crew will also sit in on team and positional meetings, as well as a number of off-the-field activities.
