
Pair of Freshmen Honored By Amateur Wrestling News

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Freshmen Brian Letters and Eric Medina both earned Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team honors as Letters earned the top spot at 157 pounds while Medina was ranked fifth at 149.
The All-Rookie Ream consists of the top six true or redshirt freshmen in the nation across Division I. Sophomores Mike Letts and Hudson Taylor were honored last year.
Letters was the 2008 ACC Champion at 157 pounds as a true freshman and finished with an 18-15 record, including a 4-1 mark in the conference. At the NCAA Championships, Letters upset #9 Chase Pami of Cal Poly in the first round.
Medina was 21-13 at 149 pounds and earned a second place finish at the ACC Tournament. Seven of his wins came by way of fall. He earned one of the conference's four at-large bids to the NCAA Championships and picked up a win against Joseph Knox of Chattanooga.
