KANSAS CITY - A win over ninth-ranked Boston College last weekend helped the Maryland men's soccer team claim the No. 4 slot in this week's NSCAA/adidas poll, announced Tuesday.
Maryland climbed four spots from last week and is now 4-1-0 heading into this Friday's conference showdown against No. 25 Duke at Ludwig Field. The Terps defeated Boston College, 1-0, via a Graham Zusi game-winner last Friday. Zusi leads the Terps with five points (1g, 3a).
Maryland's No. 4-ranking is the highest for the Terps this season. ACC-foe Wake Forest remains on top this week for the third consecutive week, followed by SMU and Notre Dame. St. John's rounds out the top five.
The Terps face the Blue Devils on Friday at 8 p.m. at Ludwig Field. The first 1,000 students will get a free Maryland rally towel and the first 500 fans will get a Maryland Soccer car decal.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors. Students with a valid ID will gain free admission.
