    Game Notes

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland men's soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski will look for career win No. 218 and the Terps will aim to go 2-0 in ACC play when they play host to Duke on Friday night at 8 p.m. at Ludwig Field.

Cirovski, who tied long-time head coach Doyle Royal last weekend when Maryland upended Boston College, 1-0, at Ludwig Field, will look to capture the all-time coaching victories record in men's soccer program history.

The fourth-ranked Terps are riding a three-game winning streak into Friday's contest against Duke. Maryland has only one blemish on their record this season with a loss at sixth-ranked California in late August. The Terps are paced by senior Graham Zusi who leads the squad in points (5) and assists (3). The midfielder also netted the game-winner against Boston College last Friday. Sophomore Will Swaim is putting together a fine campaign at keeper, registering a 3-0 record with a pair of shutouts. Zac MacMath has also tallied a win between the poles this season and has a team-best eight saves.

Duke, who just cracked the NSCAA/adidas top 25 for the first time this season, has been hot as of late, winning four straight. The Blue Devils have netted three goals in each of those victories, including a 3-1 win at Virginia Tech, and boast reigning ACC Player of the Week Mike Grella. Grella, a MAC Hermann Trophy candidate, leads the ACC in shots, points and goals this season.

This is the 65th meeting between the two programs. The Terps lead the all-time series, 40-21-3, but have lost three out of the last five meetings. Duke upended Maryland in double overtime last season, 2-1, in Durham N.C. on Sept. 22.

Tickets for Friday night's ACC showdown are $8 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors. Students with a valid ID gain free admission to Ludwig Field.

Not only do fans have a chance to witness history on Friday, there are several great giveaways as well. The first 1,000 students get a Maryland Rally Towel and the first 500 fans get a Maryland Soccer car decal.

The game will be televised on ACC Select and a live radio broadcast will be available via WMUC.
