COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Following a day of celebration for the national champion Maryland men's soccer team, the squad will be honored at halftime of Saturday's men's basketball game against Miami.
The game, which is slated for 8 p.m., will commence a day where the Terps celebrate its second national title in four seasons. The agenda includes a celebration luncheon at 1 p.m. at Heritage Hall in the Comcast Center and a reception at 4 p.m.
Maryland concluded its season with a program best 23-3 record and will roll a 16-game winning streak into the 2009 campaign. The Terps, who also captured the ACC Championship, had a slew of award winners this season, including First Team All-American Omar Gonzalez. Gonzalez and four other Terrapins were selected in the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft two weeks ago.
