Track Program Hosts Distance Clinic

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland track and field program will host an elite distance coaching clinic "Run Far, Run Fast" on Friday, Dec. 11 at the Riggs Alumni Center on campus.

Keynote speakers for the event include Andrew Valmon, current Terrapin head coach and a two-time Olympic gold medalist, his wife Meredith Rainey-Valmon, who was a two-time NCAA champ and a U.S. Olympian.

Current Maryland distance coach Desmond Dunham and volunteer assistant Tim McMahon are directing the clinic.

Other speakers include American University head coach Matt Centrowitz, 2009 Pac-10 champion Lauren Centrowitz, Art & Linda Kranick, Tia Clemmons and Donnie Mickey.

Registration for the event is $95, with payments due by Dec. 1, 2009. Late registration is $125. Checks should be payable to Elite LLC and mailed to the Univ. of Maryland Track Office, Comcast Center, College Park, MD 20740, Attn: Danielle Siebert.
