2009 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship Bracket
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland men's soccer team will face intrastate rival Loyola (Md.) Thursday at 7 p.m. in the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship at Ludwig Field.
Maryland (12-5-2) embarks on its 29th trip to the NCAA Tournament overall and ninth-straight. Loyola (11-7-3), winners of the MAAC Championship, is making its third-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Maryland and Loyola last battled in postseason play when the Terps topped the Greyhounds in penalty kicks in the NCAA second round in 2007. The Terps lead the all-time series, 25-8-7.
The winner of Thursday's first round contest will face seventh-seeded Penn State Sunday, Nov. 22.
