Maryland goalkeeper Zac MacMath has been tabbed an NSCAA Third Team All-American, announced Friday.
MacMath led a youth-laden Maryland squad to the NCAA Elite Eight this season after serving as the Terps' keeper in their national title run in 2008. The sophomore surrendered a mere 19 goals all season while boasting a 0.88 goals against average.
The St. Petersburg, Fla., native made 62 saves in 2009 and registered a 13-6-2 record with seven shutouts. In only two seasons, MacMath is 8-1 in NCAA Tournament matches and has compiled a 32-7-2 overall record for the Terps.
In addition to earning All-America honors, MacMath was named a First Team All-ACC and First Team All-South Atlantic Region selection this season.
MacMath is the 69th NSCAA All-American in Maryland men's soccer history. Omar Gonzalez, who was recently named MLS Rookie of the Year after his first season with the Los Angeles Galaxy, was Maryland's last NSCAA All-American, earning the prestigious honor in 2008.
