Lady Terps Add Nine New Marks to All-Time List

Competing in two separate meets, the Maryland Women's team participated in events at nearby George Mason while a small group traveled to Middle Tennessee. At both meets the women showed exhibited their level of tenacity as they put up nine new marks that will be added to the All-Time lists) and achieved numerous ECAC qualifiers.
Michelle Fedrick opened her 400m season in 55.77, good for first place and 5th All-Time, while Kelley Pry ran an indoor lifetime best in the 800m (2:14.90). This mark placed Pry at 7th All-Time and second in the meet.
Freshman D'Ambour Lewis had outstanding performances in both the 55m with a time of 7.09 that secured her 3rd All-Time spot, and the 200m in 25.26 that placed her at 10th on the All-Time list. DeAnna Brown, added to the record book by running the 55m in 8.20 good for 8th best All-Time. She also came back in the 200m in 25.34.
In the 55m hurdles, Chanel Williams & Kiani Profit remained consistent with individual marks of 8.17 and 8.33. These marks respectively placed the hurdle duo at 3rd and 8th All-Time. In the mile, both ladies came back strong .
Continuing her winning streak, Ashley Williams placed first in the 20 lb. weight throw at George Mason with a mark of 17.72. She finished second in the shot put posting a mark of 14.22m. Both performances placed her on the top 10 list.
Erin Matyus and Christina Nelson, went 1-2 in the 1000m at George Mason with marks that will place them respectively 7th (2:56.90) and 10th (2:57.82) overall on the All-Time list.
Next week, the Terps will compete in Blacksburg, Va. at the Virginia Tech Elite. Whith teams such as UVA, Wake Forest, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, and Clemson competing it is sure to be a spirited experience.
