Maryland Head Coach Brenda Friese
On Senior Night:
"This was just a special night for our team and for our program. Senior Night doesn't mean anything if you don't go out and handle the business in front of you. I'm so proud of our two seniors, what a way for them to go out in their last game. We needed to have everybody involved on the defensive end."
On whether this Maryland team has what it takes to win a Championship:
"Absolutely, we're peaking at the right time and that's where you always want to be come March. Seeing the way that we're playing as a team, we've been improving, every time we step out on the floor we get better in some area."
On guard Kristi Toliver and forward Marissa Coleman scoring Maryland's first 30 points:
"Usually for seniors on Senior Night, it takes a little while, but not with their mentality. They have set too big goals to let the emotion of this game get the best of us. They continue to put this team on their back. They understood that we needed to get out to a quick start; Boston College is a really good team and we needed to be good from the tip."
Maryland Forward Marissa Coleman
On guard Kristi Toliver and her playing very strongly recently:
"There's a sense of urgency in both of us. We're just playing well together now, finding each other in the open spots. We just don't want our senior year to end, we're going to play with all of our heart and passion until we get to the Final Four."
On their Terrapin-class-best 63-3 career home record:
"I didn't know that before, it's bragging rights for us. When [Crystal] Langhorne and [Laura] Harper left, they thought they were great. Well we know that we were great and that they were okay (laughing). We can go IM and email them the good news."
Maryland Guard Kristi Toliver
On forward Marissa Coleman and her playing very strongly recently:
"We're more comfortable with the system and the new players that we have. It takes some time to get comfortable and have that chemistry. Now that it's coming full circle we have elevated our game and we're more comfortable with what's happening on the floor."
On what goes through her head when she sees her stats:
"We're not concerned with what individual things we've accomplished, we're only concerned with what this team has accomplished. So far we've done great things and that's our main concern."
Boston College Head Coach Sylvia Crawley
On Maryland's strengths during the game:
"They did everything well. It was senior night they were led by two incredible seniors. They scored well, and we weren't able to stop them, successfully."
On the Comcast Center crowd:
"It was an incredible turnout as far as fan support. They were expecting 10,000 fans and it was a great atmosphere for their seniors. It is definitely a way every player wants to finish their collegiate career at home. I thought there was a lot of energy in the building. Maryland fed off of the energy and our players just have to learn how to make big stops in this type of atmosphere."
