COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland defensive back Richard Taylor has been awarded one more year of eligibility by the NCAA.
Taylor missed virtually all of the last two seasons with injuries. He played in the first three games of 2008 before suffering a season-ending right knee injury vs. California (Sept. 13).
He also missed the entire 2007 season after injuring his left knee that spring.
The native of Centreville, Va., has played in 23 career games, mostly on special teams. He redshirted in 2004 and played a reserve role in 2005 and 2006.
He graduated from the University in 2007 and is currently pursuing a master's in real estate development.
Taylor and the Terps open spring practice on Tuesday, March 24. The team will practice each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday leading up to the Red-White Spring Game on Saturday, April 25. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. in Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium.
