Kristin Reed Posts NCAA Regional-Qualifying Time

Lewisburg, Pa. - Junior Kristin Reed posted a NCAA Regional and ECAC qualifying mark in the 3,000 meter steeplechase this weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.
Reed posted a season-best time of 10:41.7 placing fourth in the event. In the discus, Kristen Batts also placed fourth qualifying for the ECAC Championships and posting a career best mark of 152-08. Alexandra Georgiou posted a 115-09 mark with Jessie Echard's 115-02.
Erin Matyus finished fourth in the 800 meters with a career best time of 2:13.51, ahead of Christina Nelson who also posted a career best time (2:15.32). Matyus ran a season best time of 4:36.31 in the 1500 meters placing her in seventh place.
The Terps also captured ECAC-qualifying marks and career bests in the 5,000 meters. Lindsay Ritchings posted an ECAC qualifying mark and career best with her 17.22.87 (7th place) time. Ashley Campbell also established a career best time of 17:38.98 (12th).
Freshman Jessie Echard was the sole competitor for the Terps in the Hammer, posting career best mark of 158-09.
In the men's 800 meters, Tommy Friscia placed fourth with a time of 1:52.22, while both Alex Lundy (10th, 14:36.06) and Kevin Gahr (23rd, 15:04.45) posted career-best times in the 5,000.
Next week, the Terrapins will look to post strong finishes at the ACC Outdoor Championships hosted by the University of Miami. The meet kicks off on Thursday with the men's and women's hammer.
