Freshman Jessica Hollandsworth shot Maryland's low round of the day with a 4-over-par 75 and the Terrapins' women's golf team shot 318 to finish Saturday's second round of the ACC Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greenbsboro, N.C., in seventh place overall, four shots behind Florida State for sixth place.
Hollandsworth began the day tied for ninth place in the individual standings and finished where she started, shooting one shot higher than Friday's round to finish tied with NC State's Emily Street, one shot out of seventh place at 7-over-par total.
Senior Lara Peffley improved on round one's score by one stroke, shooting a 7-over-par 78 to finish the day tied for 23rd place.
The next-best scores for the Terps were sophomore Kerri Connolly (82) and freshman Alexis Holmes (83). Sophomore Hilary Lawson shot 88.
Despite shooting 10 strokes higher than the first round, Wake Forest still sits atop the team standings, 17 strokes ahead of Duke at 14-over-par 582.
Wake Forest's Natalie Sheary is one stroke ahead in the individual standings, sitting at 2-under-par through two rounds. Duke's Amanda Blumenhurst is in second place after shooting the low round of the day at 3-under-par.
Sunday's final round begins at 8 a.m.
