COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie with Ivy League Champion Penn on Tuesday in spring action at Ludwig Field.
The Terps had a flurry of scoring chances, notably by Casey Townsend, Kaoru Forbess, Drew Yates, Doug Rodkey, Matt Oduaran and Matt Kassel, while outshooting the Quakers 11-3. Forbess had a strike hit the cross bar with eight minutes remaining.
Will Swaim provided Maryland with a shutout performance at keeper while Tommy Schaeffler saw his first start at center back. All members of Maryland's freshman class saw playing time.
Maryland resumes spring competition with a match at Creighton on Sunday.
