CORAL GABLES, Fla. -
The Maryland women's golf team finished the Canes & Cardinal Classic in tenth place, led by Jessica Hollandsworth and her 11-over par 227 finish, good for a tenth-place tie. On Monday, though, it was not Hollandsworth but Alexis Holmes who shot the low round of the day for the Terrapins.
Holmes, who finished tied for 45th place overall, fired a third-round 76 to pace the Terps on Monday. Five strokes better than her second-round score, the round marked her second-best of the spring season.
Hollandsworth remained the only Terrapin to shoot in the seventies for all three rounds, carding a third-round 79 to round out her week and leave her tied for tenth place.
That round of 79 was matched by Hilary Lawson, who finished tied for 39th, the second-best weekend for the Terps. Behind Holmes sat Kerri Connolly, whose combined 243 earned her a tie for 52nd place overall.
Maryland now has ten days off before heading to Greensboro for the ACC Championships beginning April 17.
