Hollandsworth Makes a Move Up the Leaderboard at NCAA Regionals

May 9, 2009

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - After a slow start on Thursday with a six-over 76, Maryland freshman Jessica Hollandsworth made a charge up the leaderboard on Friday, firing a one-over 71 to move up over 25 spots into a tie for 24th overall. Hollandsworth, who started the day tied for 51st, is now just four strokes back of the top 10 and eight total strokes off the pace.

Hollandsworth, who led the Terrapins at every event they played this spring and earned a fifth place finish at the Panther Intercollegiate, is the only Terp to earn an invitation to the NCAA Regional round. The NCAA D1 East Regional is being played at the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida.

Currently, Camilla Lennarth of Alabama leads the field with a combined one-under 139.

Hollandsworth tees off at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday for her final round.
