GREENSBORO, N.C. - Times for the University of Maryland's opening three games of the 2009 football season have been set, the Atlantic Coast Conference office announced Thursday.
Last month, the Pac-10 Conference office announced the Terps' season opener at California on Saturday, Sept. 5 will kick off at 10 p.m. ET and be televised nationally on ESPN2.
Maryland's home opener vs. James Madison (Sept. 12) will begin at 6 p.m. from the refurbished Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium. That game, which opens a four-game homestand, is not scheduled to be televised.
The following week's contest vs. Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 19) will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be streamed live on ESPN360.
All Maryland football games will be broadcast on the 14-station Terrapin Sports Radio Network.
After the first three weeks of the regular season, ACC home games are selected on a 12-day option by ESPN/ABC or Raycom Sports. Four times during the season, ESPN/ABC can choose certain ACC games on a six-day window.

Terp Notes:
Terps on Twitter: Maryland football has joined the twitter craze. Fans can follow the Terps by clicking here.
Terps in the NFL: With 13 Terps from last year's squad either chosen in the 2009 NFL Draft or signing as free agents, Maryland could have as many as 38 players on professional rosters next season. Two of those pros are former linebackers Eric Barton and D'Qwell Jackson who are poised to lead the Cleveland Browns defense this season. The Akron Beacon Journal wrote about the pair in Sunday's edition. The Philadelphia Daily News gave its local readership a look into Moise Fokou's background. The former linebacker could be a player Eagles fans will root for.
Go Camping with the Terps: The 2009 Terrapin Football Technique School kicks off later this month. The football camp, which is open to high school players, will have two sessions - June 21-23 and June 24-26. For more information, go to FearTheTerps.com or call the football office at 301-314-7095. Click here to sign up for one of the camps.
Tyser Tower Expansion Project: The newly-expanded Tyser Tower will officially open at the first home football game on Saturday, Sept. 12 vs. James Madison. The renovated towers include 64 luxury suites, and over 400 new mezzanine seats. Suites are available now on multi-year, annual and single-game lease terms and offer the most luxurious game viewing experience. Mezzanine Seating is available now on lifetime, 10-year or annual lease terms, and feature complimentary in-seat food and beverage service.
