Under Armour Kicks Off Opener Friday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Fans can look forward to an array of Under Armour events when the defending national champion Maryland men's soccer team opens it 2009 campaign against UCLA on Friday, Sept. 4 at Ludwig Field. The match will begin approximately at 8 p.m. following the women's game against Santa Clara, which kicks off at 5 p.m.
Headlining the day's events, Kevin Plank, Maryland alum and Under Armour Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board will open the Terps' 2009 season by passing the first ball of the year.
The day's events will also include the distribution of a limited number of exclusive UA Maryland Soccer scarves throughout the match. Fans will also have an opportunity to enter for a chance to win an Under Armour Prize Pack at the UA tent located next to Ludwig Field. The Under Armour tractor trailer will be on-site to give those in attendance an up-close look at UA's latest gear.
The Terps, who captured their second national title in only four seasons last year, begin the 2009 season with a four-game homestand before heading to N.C. State on September 19th.
