FARMVILLE, Va. - Maryland scored 44 points in the first half and 10 three-pointers against the Lancers on their way to a 85-40 victory. The Terrapins were led by a 15-point performance by sophomore Kim Rodgers.

Rodgers started things off with three consecutive treys and had hit five before the end of the first half, registering a career high-tying 15 points before the game was over. Freshman Jackie Nared also came up big in the win with her first career double-double registering 11 points and career-high 11 rebounds, nine defensive. She added one assist, two steals and one block.

Freshman Tianna Hawkins also pulled down double-figure rebounds with 11, five offensive and six defensive, but was just two points shy of a double-double with eight points.

Four Maryland players posted double-digit points, Rodgers, Nared, senior Lori Bjork with 12 and sophomore Lynetta Kizer with 13. Freshman Dara Taylor led in assists with eight and contributed five points and two steals.

Maryland took control of the game early holding Longwood scoreless for the first two minutes of play. The Terps went on an 11-1 run before Brittanni Billups hit a free-throw to put the Lancers on the board.

The Terrapins scored the only points in the opening six minutes of the second half for an 18-0 run. Longwood didn't hit a field goal for over 12 minutes spanning over the first and second halves until Lindsey Martin hit a three-pointer at 11:55.

The Terps hit 10-of-18 three-pointers, a season best, led by Rodgers' five. Seventeen is the program high recorded on Dec. 30, 2007 against UMBC.

Longwood was the seventh team Maryland has held to under 50 points this season, second consecutive.

Maryland was 34-of-62 from the field for their second best shooting performance of the year with a 54.8 clip. They were also 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Terrapins outrebounded Longwood 51-30. Maryland has out muscled their opponents under the basket in all but two games this season and tied once. The Terps are second in the ACC in rebounding margin (+10.2).

The Terps return home to host ACC foe Georgia Tech on Friday, Feb. 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on Comcast Sports Net, Fox Sports South and Fox Sports Florida.
