MLS Alums: Edu revival on tap <="">
NEW YORK, N.Y. - Major League Soccer recently featured a pair of former Maryland greats, highlighting Clarence Goodson and Maurice Edu in its MLS Alums series, written by Emmy Award-winning writer Mark C. Young.
Goodson, who played for the Terps from 2000-03, was originally drafted by FC Dallas of the MLS but has since taken his game overseas to Norway where he plays for IK Start. The 6'4" defender is looking to land a spot on the U.S. World Cup roster after recently having competed with the U.S. in the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup and making appearances in the last two U.S. games of the year versus Slovakia and Denmark.
Maurice Edu, who spent three seasons with the Terps from 2004-06 including its national title run in 2005, became Maryland's second number one pick in the MLS SuperDraft when he was selected by Toronto FC in 2007. Edu now plays a pivotal role for both the U.S. National Team and the Glasgow Rangers of the Scottish Premier League. ="">
