The University of Maryland volleyball team fell to Clemson Friday night in Clemson, S.C. After losing the first two sets, the Terps (15-7, 5-5 ACC) topped the Tigers in the third, 25-22, before losing in the fourth set, 25-15.
As a team, the Terrapins best play came in the third game, when they hit a collective .379 on 14 kills and only three errors. Sophomore Remy McBain clinched the set with the kill. With 42 assists, 11 digs and nine kills, the Leonia, N.J. native was just one successful attack away from her second career double-double.
Junior Lisa Scott led the Terps with 12 kills on .304 hitting and sophomore Kara Bates and freshman Mary Cushman each added 10 kills for the balanced Maryland attack. Senior Brittney Grove also played well for the Terps. Grove led Maryland with 17 digs as well as three total blocks.
For the Tigers (13-8, 4-6 ACC), Sandra Adeleye recorded 14 kills on .344 and Alexa Rand tallied a match-high eight total blocks.
The Terrapins will face off against Georgia Tech in Atlanta Saturday night at 7 p.m. Gametracker live stats will be available.
