COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Lisa Scott led the University of Maryland volleyball team with a career-high 15 kills on an astounding .700 attack percentage and also added five total blocks as the Terps and their offensive attack topped the Wolfpack, 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-15).

After losing the first set, in which Maryland managed to out-hit NC State .528 to .439, the Terps (16-8, 7-5 ACC) won the next three to beat the Wolfpack (12-12, 2-10 ACC) for their second-straight conference victory. In each of the four sets Friday night, Maryland held the hitting advantage over NC State with team hitting averages of .528, .387, .444 and .364.

Kara Bates had her best statistical game of the season to help Maryland earn more ACC wins it did all of last season when the Terps finished 6-14 in the conference. The Bradley, Ill. Native recorded a season-high 17 kills on a career-high .500 hitting. Bates also contributed three assists and one block assists for Maryland, which recorded 7.0 total team blocks to NC State's 2.0.

Remy McBain nearly earned her 11th career double-double with a match-high 50 assists to go along with nine digs.

For the Wolfpack, Luciana Shafer and Margaret Salata each notched 12 kills. Megan Cyr recorded a team-high 38 assists and Shafer added 14 digs for NC State, which lost its seventh-straight conference game.

Maryland will look to add to its two-game winning streak against the North Carolina Tar Heels Sunday afternoon at the Comcast Pavilion. The Tarheels (19-6, 10-2 ACC) handled Boston College, 3-1, on the road Friday and took a one-game lead over Duke in the ACC.

The Terps' 16-8, 7-5 ACC record is their best since 2007, when they finished the season at 18-13, 10-12 ACC.
