COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's basketball team will head across town Tuesday to take on No. 13/13 Georgetown at 7 p.m. in McDonough Arena.
Tuesday marks the Terps' first road trip and first game against a ranked opponent in the 2010-11 season. The Terrapins have six games scheduled this season against opponents in the preseason Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches polls.
Maryland owns the all-time series over Georgetown, 8-0, and the two teams haven't met since 2003. All eight meetings were played in College Park.
The Terrapins are coming off of a season-opening 73-40 win over Monmouth Saturday in College Park. Freshman Laurin Mincy led all scorers with 15 points on 2-for-3 shooting from outside the arc. As a team, the Terps were 19-for-21 at the foul line and Mincy was 5-for-5. Three other Terrapins scored in double figures, including Lynetta Kizer, Diandra Tchatchouang and Alyssa Thomas. 13 Terrapins saw action in Saturday's game and 10 saw 14 minutes or more.
Maryland returns home Thursday to take on Towson at 7 p.m. at Comcast Center. For tickets, please visit the Terrapin Ticket Office online at umterps.com or call 1-800-IM-A-TERP.
