Alyssa Thomas scored 15 of her 20 points in the first half as the University of Maryland rolled to a 121-50 victory over the University of District of Columbia in a women's basketball exhibition game Sunday at Comcast Center.
Lynetta Kizer scored 18 points in nine minutes for the Terrapins, who also got 17 points from Natasha Cloud. Kim Rodgers added 15 points, Diandra Tchatchouang and Alicia DeVaughn had 11 apiece and Laurin Mincy finished with 10 points for the Terrapins, who won both their exhibition games during the preseason.
Ashley Thompson had 12 points for the Firebirds, hitting 3 of 4 from 3-point range.
Maryland, which shot a torrid 61 percent from the floor in the game, took control early. The Terrapins held leads of 9-2, 18-4 and 25-13 before going on a 15-point run midway through the half. Maryland held a 52-18 lead at halftime.
UDC was within 63-27 with 15 minutes left in the game when the Terps went on a 14-point run over the next four minutes.
The Terrapins open their 2010-11 regular season on Saturday, Nov. 13 at home against Monmouth.
