
Kassel, MacMath Earn CSN All-America Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Juniors Matt Kassel and Zac MacMath were tabbed to the 2010 College Soccer News All-America Second Team, announced late last week.
Kassel had a breakout season for the Terps, racking up career-bests in goals (9), assists (11) and points (29). The midfielder from Bridgewater, N.J., moved up to sixth all-time on the Maryland career assists list with 24 while his 11 helpers in 2010 ranks seventh in Terrapin single-season annals. Kassel, an All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team pick, helped guide the Terps to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the third time in his career.
MacMath, arguably one of the best goalkeepers in Maryland men's soccer history, ended his remarkable junior season with a 0.64 goals against average despite the Terps facing one of the toughest schedules in the country. The St. Petersburg, Fla., product established a Maryland program record for shutouts in a season with 15. Named 2010 ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading Maryland to its second conference title in three years, MacMath also earned conference first team honors for the second consecutive season.
