
#18/20 Maryland Heads to St. Joseph's

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 18/20 Maryland women's basketball team will head to Philadelphia this weekend to take on St. Joseph's. The Terrapins and the Hawks will tip off at 2 p.m. Sunday in Michael J. Hagan '85 Arena.
The Terrapins are coming off of a 66-60 win over No. 17/17 St. John's Wednesday in the Terrapin Classic championship game. With the win, the Terps extended their win streak to 11 straight games.
Sophomore Diandra Tchatchouang was named the Terrapin Classic MVP, as she scored 19 points in the game against St. John's, including 15 in the first half. Junior Lynetta Kizer was named to the Terrapin Classic All-Tournament team. She became the 26th player in Maryland women's basketball history to break the 1,000-point mark with her 13 points in Wednesday's game.
Maryland's game on Sunday will be broadcast live on WMUCSports.com and live stats will be available.
St. Joseph's will be hosting the Hawks for Hope event at Sunday's game. The event will benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in honor of a young girl, Gracie, who is originally from Maryland who received treatment in Philadelphia. For more information on the initiative, please click here.
Maryland is ranked No. 18 in the latest edition of the Associated Press poll and is No. 20 in the ESPN USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll.
After Sunday's game, the Terrapins will open Atlantic Coast Conference play Thursday at No. 3/3 Duke at 7 p.m. Thursday.
