Terps Head to Boston College

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After playing No. 7 Duke toe-to-toe on the road, Maryland continues ACC play away from home as they head to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to take on Boston College for the second time this season. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. ET start on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Maryland last saw the Eagles in the conference home opener on Jan. 14. The Terps defeated BC 72-65. In the time since the two teams have met the Eagles have charted wins against Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina and Duke. BC has been the only conference team to triumph over the Blue Devils this season. However, Maryland has also taken wins against teams that Boston College has lost to, Virginia, Clemson, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.
The Terrapins have also never lost to the Eagles in the 10 times the two teams have met.
Maryland boasts freshmen conference stats leaders Diandra Tchatchouang, Tianna Hawkins and Dara Taylor. All lead their class in at least one statistical category. Tchatchouang is at the helm of scoring amongst all first year players with 11.9 points per game while Hawkins leads in rebounds (7.4) and Taylor in assists (5.4). The three have combined to be a dominating factor in the Terps' games.
In the team's last time out, sophomore Lynetta Kizer recorded her seventh career double-double against Duke with 13 points and 13 rebounds. She is one of only five conference players who rank top-12 in both scoring and rebounding. Kizer leads the team in points and rebounds as well with 12.1 ppg and 7.9 rpg. Senior Lori Bjork posted 14 points last game, including four makes from the three-point line. Sophomore Anjale Barrett was the third Terrapin to score double-figure points in the game with 11.
Boston College is on a three game skid after dropping contests to Wake Forest, N.C. State and Virginia Tech. Their last two games have been on the road. BC has been dominant at home and is 9-4 on its own turf this year. The Eagles lead the conference in free throw percentage (.751) hitting 301-of-401 from the line. They also lead in rebounding defense. Senior Carolyn Swords leads the conference in rebounding with 9.3 boards per game. She is also the conference's No. 7 scorer averaging 14.1 points per game.
Maryland returns home on Sunday when they host Florida State Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN2. The Terrapins will recognize seniors Emery Wallace and Lori Bjork in the last home game of the season and final game of the regular schedule.
