CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -
With one minute remaining, the Terps were only two possessions behind. Despite relentless hustle from Maryland, the Terrapins fell to Boston College Thursday night on the road, 83-70.
Four members of the Maryland squad hit double-figure points, led by sophomore Lynetta Kizer's 19. Freshman Diandra Tchatchouang finished with 14, sophomore Anjale Barrett had her second consecutive 11 point game and sophomore Kim Rodgers registered 10.
The Terrapins started both halves with a three-pointer, first by Kizer and the second from Rodgers. It was Kizer's fourth trey of the season and her career. The Woodbridge, Va., native went on to hit a career-high two for her fifth career three-pointer.
Maryland held control of the game for the first 11 minutes of play. Boston College went on a run of their own but the Terrapins rallied to end the half within three. Maryland's Bjork hit her second three-pointer of the night with one minute remaining to take the score to 35-32. In the remaining seconds of the half, BC had possession but aggressive defense from the Terps prevented the Eagles from notching any more field goals before heading to the locker room.
Maryland returns home on Sunday when they host Florida State Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN2. The Terrapins will recognize seniors Emery Wallace and Lori Bjork in the last home game of the season and final game of the regular schedule.
