Maryland Men's Soccer Spring Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's soccer team is wasting no time challenging its newest unit, compiling a spring schedule that consists of three teams in last year's NCAA College Cup and a pair of professional squads in the form of D.C. United and Crystal Palace USA.

The Terps open its 2010 spring slate with a match against Crystal Palace USA of the newly-formed NASL in College Park this Saturday, March 6. Game time is slated for 11 a.m.

Maryland will then travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. on Saturday, March 27 for a game against conference-foe Wake Forest at 11:30 a.m. before taking on Campbell at 2:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at BB&T Park.

D.C. United will be the Terps' next test with a battle against the MLS squad Wednesday, April 14 at 10 a.m. The game against D.C. United, a team that features former Maryland products Rodney Wallace and Marc Burch, will be played at the RFK Auxiliary Field in Washington, D.C.

Maryland welcomes NCAA finalist Akron to Ludwig Field on Sunday, April 18. The Terps take on the Zips at 1 p.m.

The Terps travel just down the road for an NCAA Elite Eight rematch against reigning national champion Virginia Friday, April 23. The highly-anticipated contest will be played at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md., and will kick off at 7 p.m.

"Our staff really set out to put together a challenging spring schedule so that we can begin to formulate our squad for the upcoming fall," head coach Sasho Cirovski said. "I believe the schedule has a lot of intriguing matchups that will benefit our team and also serve as an exciting catalyst to the 2010 season for our fans."

Maryland will close out the spring slate with its annual Alumni Game Saturday, May 1 at Ludwig Field.
