COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Dallas Poulk went 4-for-5 with five runs and Pratt Maynard went 3-for-5 with five RBI as NC State completed a weekend sweep of Maryland with a 22-6 victory Sunday afternoon.
The Wolfpack did most of its damage between the third and sixth innings, tallying 18 runs during the four-inning span.
NC State, which ranks second in the Atlantic Coast Conference in home runs, had three in the middle stretch of the game. Danny Canela hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Harold Riggins followed with another two-runner in the fifth. Maynard collected two of his RBI with a two-run shot in the sixth.
Maryland scored single runs in each of the first three innings, but was unable to keep up with the high-powered NC State offense. The Pack entered the weekend third in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a .340 team batting average.
Jack Cleary had two doubles and two singles for his first career four-hit game. Jordan Hagel went 3-for-5, marking his first three-hit game, while Matt Marquis had a pair of doubles to lead the Terps offensively.
NC State (25-13, 9-9 ACC) pitcher Anthony Tzamtzis earned the win in relief, pitching 2 2/3 and allowing two runs on five hits.
Sander Beck (0-6) took the loss for Maryland (14-23, 4-14 ACC), allowing five runs in 2 1/3.
Maryland returns to action Tuesday with a trip to Norfolk, Va., for a 6 p.m. matchup with Old Dominion.
