Terps Add Leikvang to Signing Class

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland men's soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski has announced the addition of Helge Leikvang to the signing class of 2010.
Leikvang, a U-18 Norwegian National team product, joins Patrick Mullins, Gordon Murie, Marquez Fernandez, Tsotleho "Sunny" Jane and Jereme Raley as freshmen on campus this fall.
The Terps return 23 letterwinners from the 2009 squad which garnered Maryland's eighth consecutive NCAA Sweet Sixteen berth.

Oslo, Norway 6'0" - 168 Norwegian College of Elite Sport Before Maryland: Member of U-18 Norwegian National team...in May 2010, scored tying goal against host-Portugal at the prestigious Torneio Internacional Juniors International tournament...member of Stabaek's elite juniors program...Stabaek's senior team is currently in 7th place out of the 16-team Norwegian First Division...his juniors team won the national championship in 2008 and placed second in 2009...also a steady starter for Stabaek's men's second team...attended high school at the Norwegian College of Elite Sport.
Personal: Son of Truls Leikvang and Dikka Simonsen ... born March 2, 1992 ... has three older siblings: sister, Hedda (24) and brothers, Kim (20) and Didrick (25)... his craziest ambition is to play in the World Cup and lists his sports hero as Tiger Woods ... chose Maryland because of head coach Sasho Cirovski ... majoring in business.
