On the game:
"West Virginia just played better than we did. They are a good football team. They played a lot better than us in the first half and that's my fault. Crowd noise was a factor, but once we adapted to that, we came back and fought hard in the second half.
"We still have a lot of work to do and we suffered a few injuries that are going to be difficult to figure out, but we'll need to find a way."
On West Virginia using a no-huddle offense:
"We anticipated (West Virginia's) tempo earlier in the game, and we didn't do a very good job adapting to it. They really didn't do anything that we didn't anticipate; they just did it very well."
On the long punt return to start the third quarter:
"I think really the big punt return by Jock Sanders was a big play in the game. We had a really good punt to cover and we didn't do a very good job covering it. If we would have gotten it, it could have been a big play and turned the game around, but we didn't get it."
On the play of the defense:
"They have big backs, but we're better tacklers and I don't think we did a good job tackling at all. Our defense was on the field way too long. I'm really anxious to see who stepped up in the second half. They could have very easily quit and they didn't do that - they fought back."
