COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Three Terps were ranked individually in a preseason poll released this week by Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine.

The Terps, who are coming off a 19-4 season, including a 20th place finish at the NCAA Championships, have several key returnees from last season's squad.

Josh Asper and Kyle John were 2010 NCAA qualifiers and senior Mike Letts, a two-time ACC Champion (2007-08), is healthy after missing much of 2010 with an injury. Jon Kohler, the 2008 ACC Champion at 141 pounds, returns to that weight after spending last season at 149 pounds.

WINs individual rankings listed Asper as the fifth-ranked wrestler in the nation at 165 pounds, John as No. 10 at 157 pounds and Letts as No. 11 at 174 pounds.

WIN had Maryland ranked 33rd as a team.

Maryland will hold the annual Red and Black Wrestle-Offs on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. in Comcast Pavilion. The regular season opener is Nov. 6, when the Terps play host to West Virginia, Liberty, Johns Hopkins and McDaniel College in the Terrapin Duals.
