
Wrestling Wraps Road Swing with Bucknell

Undefeated in 2011, the University of Maryland wrestling team looks to continue its recent success Saturday at 7 p.m. as it travels to Lower Dauphin, Pa., to take on the Bucknell Bison.
The Terps won three dual meets on last weekend's northeastern road trip as they topped Boston, Harvard and Brown over a two-day span. Maryland is off to an 8-3 start in dual competition, having earned 30-plus points in four of its eight victories.
Bucknell is 3-6 with in dual meets heading into a Friday matchup with Rutgers. Ranked No. 35 to Maryland's No. 33, the Bison should present the Terps with a challenge.
"This is going to be a very good match," said head coach Kerry McCoy. "Bucknell has a solid team and they match up well against us. Our guys have been working hard and are getting better every day, so this will give us an idea of where we are."
Maryland is anchored by its three ranked wrestlers No. 13 Kyle John (157 pounds), No. 5 Josh Asper (165) and No. 17 Mike Letts (174) who have gone a combined 60-13 on the season including an impressive 27-3 in dual matches.
Bucknell is led by senior Kevin LeValley, who is ranked No. 4 in the country at 149 pounds. LeValley is 18-0 on the season and has five wins against top-25 opponents. Four of the Bison's six losses have come to top-25 teams.
The match with Bucknell is Maryland's last on the road before returning home from a three month away stint. The Terps host Navy on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 4:05 p.m. in the first of a four-match homestand.
