    COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 13 Maryland women's basketball team will play at Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Clemson Sunday afternoon. The Terrapins (13-3, 0-2 ACC) and the Tigers (8-10, 1-2 ACC) will tip off at 3 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum.

    Fans will be able to watch the Maryland-Clemson game live on ClemsonTigers.com.

    The Terps own the all-time series over the Tigers 37-24 and are 12-14 at Littlejohn Coliseum. Maryland has won the last nine straight meetings, most recently a 71-51 win in College Park Feb. 14 2010.

    The Terrapins are coming off of a 78-69 loss to Boston College Thursday night.

    Junior Lynetta Kizer led the Terrapins with 22 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the year. Freshman Alyssa Thomas earned her second straight double-double with 18 points a career-high 13 rebounds.

    Maryland moved to No. 13 in latest edition of both the Associated Press poll and the ESPN USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll this week.

    After Thursday's game, the Terrapins will head to Virginia to play at 8:30 p.m. Friday. The Maryland-Virginia game will be shown on the regional sports network, which consists of Comcast SportsNet, Fox Sports Net South, Fox Sports Net Florida, and New England Sports Network.

    Friday's matchup will also be broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network and can be heard on ESPN 1300 (Baltimore) and ESPN 980 (DC).

    ABOUT THE TERPS

  • Maryland fields one of the youngest rosters in the nation. The Terps are one of seven teams in the country to not have any seniors.
  • All five members of Maryland's No. 2 recruiting class played in their state's high school championship game and three, Alicia DeVaughn, Laurin Mincy and Alyssa Thomas won their respective titles.
  • Sophomore Diandra Tchatchouang played in the European championships over the summer. She led France to a fourth-place finish in the tournament. She was on her way to being tournament MVP, before suffering an ankle injury.
  • 10 of the 14 Terrapins are over 6'0 tall and eight are over 6'2, making the Terps one of the tallest teams in the country. None of the Terps' 2010-11 opponents have as many players over 6'1.

  • Maryland is one of the strongest rebounding teams in the country.
  • The Terps lead the ACC in rebounding margin (+14.6). They are third in the country only to Syracuse (+18.6) and Connecticut (+15.3).

  • Freshman Alyssa Thomas earned her first career double-double at No. 3 Duke with 11 points and 12 rebounds. She followed with one the next game against BC.

    MILESTONE UPDATES

  • Junior Lynetta Kizer broke the 1000-point mark against No. 17/17 St. John's with 13 points in the game. She is the 26th Terrapin to break the mark.
  • Head coach Brenda Frese earned her 200th win at Maryland Nov. 21 vs. American. She reached that mark faster than any coach in Maryland women's basketball history.
  • Just entering her ninth season in College Park, Frese's record is 210-76. (.734).

    TERPS IN THE POLLS

  • Maryland moved to No. 13 in the latest Associated Press poll and to No. 15 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll this week.
  • The Terps began the season ranked 21st in the Associated Press poll. They have started the season ranked in each of the last seven seasons.
  • The week of Dec. 13 marked the 100th week head coach Brenda Frese had a team ranked in her career at Maryland. She now has had a team ranked 103 weeks while in College Park.

    TOUGH PLACE TO PLAY

  • Comcast Center was recently named one of the country's top ten toughest places to play. No other ACC school made the top ten.
