COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team plays host to Clemson Friday at 7 p.m. and ends the weekend with a match against Georgia Tech Sunday at 2 p.m. at Comcast Pavilion. The Terps (9-16, 3-10) lost to Clemson and Georgia Tech approximately a month ago and will be looking to end a nine match losing streak to the Tigers. In October, the match against the Tigers was a back-and-forth affair and went five sets.

Maryland lost to North Carolina last Thursday and dropped a competitive match at NC State Friday night. Sophomore Mary Cushman still leads the team in kills (262) and is averaging 2.85 per set.

Junior Remy McBain is eighth in ACC matches with 9.24 assists per set, and is sixth in service aces with 0.30. Sophomore Sarah Harper is sixth in the conference in digs (4.62) and eighth in service aces (0.28).

Junior Caitlin Adams is averaging just under a block per set (0.95) and freshman Adreene Elliott is second on the team with 0.85.

Clemson leads the all-time series 34-27 and the Terps have not defeated the Tigers since 2005. With Georgia Tech's win earlier this season, the Terps and Yellow Jackets have split 52 meetings.


Clemson

Clemson won the first meeting against the Terps 3-2, and enter the weekend winners of three of its last four matches. The Tigers rank in the ACC top-10 in four statistical categories. The Tigers are second in blocks (2.99), third in hitting percentage (.251), fourth in assists (13.06) and fifth in kills (13.72).

Serenat Yaz and Sandra Adeleye rank seventh and 10th, respectively, in kills. Yaz is averaging 3.38 and Adeleye is averaging 3.21.

Alexa Rand is averaging 1.70 blocks second-best in the ACC. Hannah Brenner is ninth in the conference averaging 8.04 assists.


Georgia Tech

The Yellow Jackets are 3-3 in their last six ACC contests most recently dropping a four-set match to Duke Saturday night. Georgia Tech is tops in the conference averaging 1.46 service aces per set.

Offensively, Monique Mead leads the ACC with 4.73 kills per set and Kaleigh Colson is third in the conference with a .422 hitting percentage.

The Yellow Jackets have two of the best servers in the conference. Colson and Susan Carlson are ranked one and two, respectively. Colson is averaging 0.44 per set and Carlson is averaging 0.38.
