The sixth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team will head across town for a 1 p.m. matchup at American Sunday afternoon. The 8-0 Terrapins and the Eagles (5-3) will play in Bender Arena in Washington D.C.

The Terrapins are 8-0 for the first time since the 2007-08 season when they rolled to a 10-0 record to start the year. The Eagles will look to get back to their winning ways after a 39-37 overtime loss to University of Maryland, Eastern Shore Wednesday night in Washington.
Alyssa Thomas led the Terps to a 74-65 win over Michigan Wednesday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge with her 24 point, nine rebound performance. She scored 19 of her points in the first half and hit her first career three.
Tianna Hawkins notched 10 points and 16 rebounds for her fourth double-double in five games and Laurin Mincy added 11 points.
Maryland is No. 1 in the country in rebounding, as the Terps hold a rebounding margin of +20.3. Hawkins is fourth in the NCAA with her field goal percentage of .688.
Maryland is ranked No. 6 in the latest Associated Press rankings, released Monday, and No. 7 in the ESPN/USA Division I Top 25 Coaches' poll, released Tuesday.
