
#10 Terps Head to Georgia Tech

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 10 Maryland women's basketball team will head south this week to take on Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Georgia Tech Thursday. The Terps and the Jackets are set to tip off at 7 p.m. in Alexander Memorial Coliseum in Atlanta.

The Terrapins (18-3, 4-2 ACC) moved to No. 10 this week in the ESPN USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll and No. 12 in the Associated Press poll. The Jackets (18-6, 6-2 ACC) are tied for No. 24 in the Associated Press poll.
Alyssa Thomas was named the ACC's Rookie of the Week on Monday for the third straight week and fifth week overall this year - the most of any other freshman this season. She ties a school record of five Rookie of the Week awards set by Crystal Langhorne in 2004-05 and Marissa Coleman in 2005-06.
Maryland is No. 2 in the NCAA in rebounding margin (+15.0). In ACC games, Thomas leads conference players in rebounding with an average of 11.7 per contest. Her 5.2 offensive boards per ACC game lead the league as well.
Junior Anjale Barrett leads in assists with 6.5 per conference game and sophomore Tianna Hawkins has the highest field goal percentage (.679) of any player in ACC matchups.
