Eight Terps Named to ACC All-Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Eight members of the national champion Maryland field hockey team continued the team's achievements from the 2010 season, as they earned spots on the Atlantic Coast Conference's All-Academic team the league announced today.
The Terrapins led all teams with eight student-athletes named to the team, while Duke followed with seven.
Lauren Barr, Jemma Buckley, Megan Frazer, Colleen Gulick, Alicia Morawski, Katie O'Donnell, Janessa Pope and Harriet Tibble were all honored for their achievements in the classroom. Buckley, Frazer and Tibble were also named to this year's All-ACC team. O'Donnell was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year for the fourth straight year.
To qualify for selection to the ACC All-Academic team, student-athletes must have earned a 3.0 grade-point-average for the fall semester and have maintained a 3.0 GPA for their careers.
Pope, O'Donnell and Frazer are all second-time honorees.
Last week, Morawski was awarded one of the ACC's James-Weaver-Corrigan awards, a postgraduate scholarship. She is one of 36 student-athletes across all sports that will receive $5,000 to go towards her postgraduate education.
Earlier this week, Maryland was named a National Academic Team by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. To be named a National Academic Team, squads must earn a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Terrapins are one of 52 Division I teams to earn the honor. Boston College and Duke were also named National Academic teams
