As a junior (2010): Started all 24 games in the Terrapins' backfield...member of 2010 ACC and NCAA Championship teams...performance earned her a spot on the All-ACC and All-NCAA Tournament teams...also named to All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team...finished second on the team in assists with 11...notched two defensive saves on the year...the first was at No. 3 Virginia Oct. 1 in a 2-1 overtime win...the second was against Pacific on Oct. 10...stopped on many of the team's penalty corner plays...named to ACC's All-Academic Team.
Before Maryland: Played defense and midfield at Coleraine High School...as captain, helped lead team to quarterfinals of the School Cup...named Coleraine/Ballymoney Junior Sportswoman of the Year 2005, 2006 and 2007...also played for and was captain of Ulster School girls team...played for the Ballymoney Ladies from 2004-2010.
Personal: Lauren Rachel Barr...daughter of Kenneth and Marion Barr...plans to be a special needs or science teacher...came to Maryland for different cultural experiences...helped coach junior hockey and football (soccer) at Coleraine High School.
