Game Notes

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The No. 11 Maryland women's basketball team will play at No. 21 Miami Thursday night. The Terps and the Hurricanes, who are tied for fourth in the ACC, will play at 7 p.m. in BankUnited Center.
Thursday's game will be shown online on Canes All Access and Gametracker live stats will also be available.
Maryland (20-3, 6-2 ACC) is coming off of an 88-59 win over North Carolina State. The Terps trailed by three at the break, before outscoring the Wolfpack 52-20 in the second half.
Junior Lynetta Kizer led with 22 points and 13 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the year. She was named ACC Player of the Week for the first time in her career Monday.
In their most recent meeting, the Canes ended Maryland's 48-game home win streak at Comcast Center on Jan. 28, 2010. Entering Thursday's game, the Hurricanes (20-3, 6-2 ACC) own a 21-game home win streak dating back to last season.
The Terrapins are No. 11 this week in the ESPN USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll and No. 12 in the Associated Press poll.
Maryland is No. 2 in the NCAA in rebounding margin (+14.9). In ACC games, Thomas leads conference players in rebounding with an average of 9.4 per contest. She and Kizer are tied for No. 1 in the ACC in offensive boards per game with 4.3.

After Thursday's game, the Terrapins will return home to face Virginia. The Terps and the Cavaliers will play at 2 p.m. in Comcast Center. Maryland will be celebrating its annual Think Pink game in honor of breast cancer research. Survivors of breast cancer can enter the game for free by emailing isurvived@umd.edu.
The Terps-Cavaliers game will be shown online on TerpsTV Premium, which is a subscription service that offers exclusive video and audio content. The service is available for an annual subscription price of $79.95 or a monthly subscription of $9.95 per month. It will also be broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network and can be heard on ESPN 1300 (Baltimore).

LAST TIME OUT...
On Sunday, the Terps toppled NC State 88-59 with a second half surge.
Junior Lynetta Kizer led all scorers with 22 points and 13 rebounds, with 18 and nine coming in the second half.
Junior Kim Rodgers hit three three's, including one that sparked an 11-0 run in the first half that put the Terrapins back in the game.
The Terps held the advantage inside, outrebounding the Wolfpack 51-28. The Terps grabbed 25 offensive rebounds to NC State's 11 and held the Wolfpack to just 10 total second half rebounds.
The Terrapins won the battle in the paint, 50-16, and did not allow NC State any points in the paint in the second half.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami is 20-3 this season, 6-2 in the ACC and 17-0 at home. After a 17-game win streak, the Canes have lost two of their last four.
Riquna Williams and Shenise Johnson are Nos. 1 and 2 in the ACC in scoring with 21.6 and 19.0 points per game, respectively.
Most recently, Miami fell 82-58 at Duke Thursday night. Williams led Miami with 27 and Johnson notched 12.

ABOUT THE TERPS
Maryland fields one of the youngest rosters in the nation. The Terps are one of seven teams in the country to not have any seniors.
All five members of Maryland's No. 2 recruiting class played in their state's high school championship game and three, Alicia DeVaughn, Laurin Mincy and Alyssa Thomas won their respective titles.
Sophomore Diandra Tchatchouang played in the European championships over the summer. She led France to a fourth-place finish in the tournament. She was on her way to being tournament MVP, before suffering an ankle injury.
10 of the 14 Terrapins are over 6'0 tall and eight are over 6'2, making the Terps one of the tallest teams in the country. None of the Terps' 2010-11 opponents have as many players over 6'1.
GLASS CRASHERS
The Terps lead the ACC in rebounding margin (+14.9). They are second in the country only Syracuse (+15.2).
Three Terps are in the top 20 in the ACC in rebounding. Lynetta Kizer is No. 9 (7.4) and freshman Alyssa Thomas is No. 11 (7.2). Alicia DeVaughn is No. 17 (6.21 rpg).
Thomas leads the ACC in rebounding in conference games (9.4). She and Kizer both lead in offensive rebounding (4.3) in league games.
The Terrapins have won the battle on the boards in 21 of 23 games. They have grabbed 1091 rebounds to their opponent's 749.
ALL HANDS ON DECK
Nine Terrapins are averaging over 14.0 minutes per game.
The Terrapins have had six different starting lineups through 23 games this season.
Maryland's bench averages 26.0 points per game to their opponents' 17.6. The Terrapins' bench has outscored its opponents' bench in 16 of the 23 games this season.
TERPS IN THE POLLS
Maryland is No. 11 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll this week and No. 12 in the Associated Press poll.
The Terps began the season ranked 21st in the Associated Press poll. They have started the season ranked in each of the last seven seasons.
The week of Dec. 13 marked the 100th week head coach Brenda Frese had a team ranked in her career at Maryland. She now has had a team ranked 107 weeks while in College Park.
TEAM TYLER
In September, Coach Frese's two-year old son, Tyler Thomas, was diagnosed leukemia.
To help with leukemia awareness, a group of former Maryland players from the 2006 national championship team, including Marissa Coleman, Shay Doron, Laura Harper and Kristi Toliver, are starting a foundation called Team Tyler.
Some of the Terps' opponents this year, including the coaches from Purdue, the SAC from Loyola, the coaches at UMBC and Duke, as well as Georgia Tech, have made contributions to Team Tyler.
The Terrapins will be wearing green ribbons on their warmup shirts this season in honor of leukemia awareness.

TOUGH PLACE TO PLAY
Comcast Center was recently named one of the country's top ten toughest places to play. No other ACC school made the top ten.
The Terps have won 83.60 percent of their games in Comcast Center (122-24) since it opened in 2002.
Maryland has led the ACC in attendance since 2007.
