  • The Terps advanced to the second round of the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament to take on the winner of No. 5 Georgetown/No. 12 Princeton Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Comcast Center.
  • Saint Francis finishes the season with a 22-11 overall mark, tied for the third most wins in program history with the 1997-98 squad.
  • Today's game marks the return of the Terrapins to the NCAA tournament and the first NCAA tournament game for 10 Terps.
  • Saint Francis made its second-straight NCAA tournament appearance and 11th in school history.

    Maryland Team Game Notes

  • Lineup: Anjale Barrett, Lynetta Lizer, Kim Rodgers, Diandra Tchatchouang, and Alyssa Thomas.
  • Three Terps reached double figures in today's win: Alyssa Thomas (16), Diandra Tchatchouang (11), and Anjale Barrett (11).
  • Stone Cold Defense: During its opening run, Maryland forced three St. Francis turnovers and held the Red Storm to 0-for-7 shooting from the floor during its 13-0 run to start the game. Overall, Maryland held St. Francis to 30.8% shooting from the floor and forced 24 Red Storm turnovers.
  • Hot Start: Diandra Tchatchouang got the Terps scoring going with a jump shot a minute into the game. Maryland then went on a 13-0 run, taking a commanding 20-2 lead at the second TV timeout. The Terps never looked back.
  • Paint Prowess: The Terps owned the paint against the Red Storm, scoring 32 points and snatching a season-high 49 rebounds, 21 offensive and 28 defensive.

    Maryland Individual Game Notes

  • Sophomore Diandra Tchatchouang scored 11 points and led the Terps in assists with four. She and fellow sophomore Dara Taylor also added three steals each.
  • Freshman Alyssa Thomas scored 16 points to lead all scorers. The ACC Rookie of the Year shot 6 of 10 from the floor in an efficient offensive performance.
  • Sophomore Tianna Hawkins grabbed 10 rebounds for Maryland as she and nine other Terps made their NCAA Tournament debuts.

    St. Francis Team Game Notes

  • Lineup: Allison Smith, Samantha Leach, Brittany Lilley, Allison Daly, and Shene Fleming.
  • Steals: St. Francis recorded seven steals in the first half and forced 13 Maryland turnovers. St. Francis ended the game with 11 steals causing 23 Maryland turnovers.
  • Getting back on track: After getting behind 20-2, the Red Flash stuck with Maryland getting outscored by just four the rest of the game, even outscoring the Terps 31-30 in the second half.
  • Bench Mark: The Red Storm got 22 points from their bench , good for almost half their offensive output.

    St. Francis Individual Game Notes

  • Senior co-captain Samantha Leach led the Red Storm on the court, sitting out just 4 minutes of today's contest. The NEC Player of the Year added nine points , three assists, and two steals for St. Francis.
  • Junior Brittany Lilley and sophomore Nickia Gibbs led St. Francis with 10 points. Gibbs had one of her best performance of the year adding three rebounds and two steals against the Terps.
  • Freshman Alli Williams notched 10 rebounds to lead St. Francis. The NEC All-Rookie Team selection came up just short of a double-double, adding eight points in her NCAA tournament debut.
