BALTIMORE - Ashlyn Sinclair won the 1,500 and Ashley Cromartie earned a win in her first steeplechase as a collegian to lead University of Maryland performances Saturday at the Hopkins Loyola Outdoor Invitational track and field meet.
Sinclair won the 1,500 in 4:53.89, beating Emily Doucette of Loyola by less than a second, while Cromartie went 11:09.38 to win the steeplechase.
Also for the Terps on Saturday, Caitlin Orr cut seven seconds off her previous season-best in the women's 800, finishing second in 2:24.42.
On the men's side, Sean O'Leary and Brian Faherty finished third and fourth in the 1,500, with Faherty's time of 4:13.14 being a season-best.
Craig Morgan posted a 1:56.25 to place third in the men's 800, the second-best mark by a Terp this year and a career best by 1.5 seconds.
Maryland competes next Thursday through Saturday at the Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Championships at Duke.
