COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
Junior Remy McBain was named to the Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team the league announced today. The team was voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.
The team is comprised of 18 student-athletes with two spots reserved for defensive specialists.
A total of 10 teams are represented. Duke led all conference teams with four selections. Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Miami all had two representatives. Clemson, Maryland, Virginia, and Wake Forest completed the squad with one player apiece.
McBain finished last season ranked seventh in the ACC in assists (1,179) and is ninth in school history with 1,441. McBain needs only 654 assists this season to pass Libby Alberts for fifth all-time in school history.
The Terps open the season Friday against Villanova as part of the Comcast Lady Vol Classic in Knoxville, Tenn.
