COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Postgame notes following Maryland's 37-31 loss to No. 18 West Virginia.

Takeaways: Maryland forced West Virginia into three turnovers Saturday (one interception; two fumble recoveries), following up a solid performance against Miami in which they took the ball away four times. Over the last 15 games the Terps have forced 40. They have also now recorded an interception in 12 of the last 14 games.

Offensive Attack: Maryland racked up over 400 yards of total offense for the sixth straight game (dating back to last season). The Terps also ran 87 plays, the most since also running 87 at Rutgers on Sept. 29, 2007. Danny O'Brien threw for 289 yards while Davin Meggett recorded his second career 100-yard rushing game with 113 yards.

Reliable Receiver: Kevin Dorsey, who had career highs with eight catches and 124 yards against Miami, had another big game today as Maryland's No. 1 receiver. The junior caught nine passes for 79 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown reception, the third score of his career.

Safety Stops: Maryland safeties Eric Franklin (15) and Matt Robinson (13) combined for 28 tackles against WVU. Both set career highs. Robinson added two tackles-for-loss and two pass break-ups, while Franklin also had one tackle-for-loss.

Early Playing Time: Wide receiver Marcus Leak became the fifth true freshman to earn playing time this season. He joins Keith Bowers, Tyler Cierski, Justus Pickett and Alex Twine, who all saw time against Miami in week one. Additionally, WR Devin Burns and DB Jeremiah Johnson were the ninth and 10th redshirt freshmen to see the field.

Another Big Crowd: A crowd of 53,627 attended today's game, marking the largest crowd at Byrd Stadium since Oct. 20, 2005, when 54,838 saw the Terps play Virginia Tech. It is the fifth-largest crowd in Byrd Stadium history. Against Miami on Sept. 6., Maryland had 52,875 in attendance.

Multi-TD game: D.J. Adams recorded the fourth multiple-touchdown game of his career with two rushing scores in the second half. The sophomore had multiple TDs last season against Morgan State, Virginia and East Carolina.

Tidbits: Devin Burns made his first career reception, a 17-yarder in the third quarter ... DB Cameron Chism extended his starts streak to 25, the longest on the team, while OL R.J. Dill extended his to 20 which leads the offense ... With 289 yards through the air, Danny O'Brien moved to 15th in school history in career passing yards (3,075) ... next on the list is Scott Zolak (1988-90) who had 3,124 in his career.
