ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Alex Willett led Maryland to the line with a 35th-place finish and the Terrapins placed eighth in the team standings Saturday at the Navy Invitational men's meet.

Freshman Myah Hicks placed 11th and junior Anna Roth was 12th individually to lead the University of Maryland women to a sixth-place team finish Saturday at the Salty Seadog Invitational for the women.

Willett covered Navy's 8K men's course in 25:21.0. Maryland's top time at the same meet a year ago was more than a minute slower than Willett's effort. Junior Craig Morgan was 44th overall in 25:31.0, cutting nearly a minute off his time from the same course last year.

Sean O'Leary was 46th for the Terps in 25:34.6, followed by Noam Neeman (50th, 25:38.31), Theo Dorsman (51st, 25:39.0), Sumanth Kuppalli (53rd, 25:40.3) and Cory Puffett (58th, 25:42.1).

Maryland finished with 204 points in the team standings, which were topped by Eastern Kentucky with 45. Navy was second with 59 and La Salle was third at 70.

Soufiane Bouchikhi of Eastern Kentucky won the individual competition in 24:16.8.

Hicks went 22:39.9 over Navy's 6-kilometer women's course to pace the Terrapins. Roth, who cut three minutes off her time two weeks ago on the Mount St. Mary's course, was less than three seconds behind her teammate.

Also scoring for Maryland were Michelle Hess (36th, 23:42.8), Bridget Nolan (46th, 23:52.0) and Halsey Sinclair (48th, 23:55.3). Julie Sinkovitz (24:02.3) and Maeve McCoy (24:30.6) were also in Maryland's top seven on Saturday.

The Terrapins finished with 140 points, just 15 points out of third place. Navy won its home event with 43 points, followed by La Salle with 53. Caitlin Storbeck and Meghan McGlinchey swept the top two individual spots for La Salle. Storbeck finished in 22:04.7.

Maryland competes next at the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Sept. 30.
