COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
A limited number of tickets are still available for Monday's football season-opener with Maryland hosting Miami at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
Fewer than 500 tickets remained available, with those being single tickets around the stadium, as well as seating in some premium locations.
Fans should contact the Maryland Ticket Office at 1-800-IM-A-TERP or click the Buy Tickets tab at the top of the www.umterps.com home page.
DIGITAL TICKETING
Maryland Athletics will be introducing digital ticketing this season at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. This system will provide fans greater convenience and security by scanning bar-coded tickets.
With the new system in place, Maryland Athletics requests that fans arrive early to the gates for the first few home games. Arriving early will ensure all fans quick access to their seats by avoiding the last-minute rush to the gates.
TERP TOWN
A big part of the excitement surrounding Maryland Football game days in 2011 will take place prior to each home game as fans are encouraged to enjoy "Terp Town" at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center.
The event is being presented by Capital One Bank and is being coordinated by the University of Maryland Alumni Association and Intercollegiate Athletics.
"Capital One Bank is proud to be the Official Bank of University of Maryland Athletics, and we're pleased to continue our partnership and bring this exciting new experience to Terps fans," said Michael Pugh, Market President, Capital One Bank. "As an NCAA corporate champion and a long-time sponsor of Maryland Athletics, Capital One Bank is committed to supporting all areas of college sports and contributing resources to help student-athletes reach their goals on the playing field and in the classroom. We look forward to another successful year on and off the playing field for University of Maryland student athletes, families and fans."
Terp Town will provide family fun for all ages, including inflatable games, face painting, autographs, a live DJ and more. The first 2,000 fans to stop by receive a free exclusive giveaway item.
The Tailgate Grill located inside the center's Moxley Gardens will sell food and drinks, and fans will also be able to catch all the day's college football action on the big screen. Drink discounts will be available for all Alumni Association and Terrapin Club members with their membership card.
The action will begin three hours prior to kickoff.
METRO RAIL
Fans who make the trip to the stadium via the College Park Metro Station are advised that the entire rail system will be running on a holiday schedule, with the last train leaving the College Park station at 11:30 p.m. Announcements will be made inside the stadium during the game to remind fans of the final departure.
