COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Postgame notes following Maryland's 38-7 loss to Temple.

Kicking Off: Maryland fell to Temple for the first time in the seven-game history of the series, which began in 1997 ... the Terps dropped to 1-2 on the year ... Maryland entered the game 15th nationally in passing offense (318.5 ypg) but was held to 195 by Temple ... the Owls ranked fourth in the nation in scoring defense (8.0 ppg) entering the game and held the Terps to seven.

Receiving Corps: Kerry Boykins had career highs with eight receptions for 76 yards, topping previous career bests set last week against West Virginia (4 receptions, 61 yards). Kevin Dorsey, who entered the game leading the ACC with 8.5 catches per game, had five receptions for 61 yards.

Ferrara's Punts: Nick Ferrara punted six times for 283 yards, an average of 47.2 yards per punt. That was a career-best average for Ferrara (previously 43.2 vs. Clemson 10/3/09). He also put two punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line and had three over 50 yards ... Maryland, however, had its streak of 139 games without a blocked punt (the longest in the nation) snapped when Temple's Malcolm Eugene broke through the line to block a Ferrara punt in the first quarter.

Brown Leads Scoring Drive: Sophomore QB C.J. Brown saw action for the first time since Sept. 11, 2010 against Morgan State, and led an eight-play, 80-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter. Brown went 4-of-4 for 42 yards on the drive and also ran twice for 29 yards. The drive was capped by an 18-yard TD pass to Devonte Campbell, the first of both players' careers.

Tidbits: Marcus Leak made his first career reception, a nine-yard catch in the first quarter ... Maurice Hampton set career highs with two tackles-for-loss and five total tackles (all solos) ... LB Demetrius Hartsfield set a new career high with 17 tackles ... safety Eric Franklin recorded double-digit tackles for the second straight game with 12 ... safety Matt Robinson entered the game 10th nationally in tackles (11.5) and had 13 ... Lorne Goree got his first career sack and also a forced fumble.
