After playing a mid-week non-conference match at American on Tuesday, the Maryland volleyball team gets back on the floor with ACC competition this weekend as Clemson and Georgia Tech visit Comcast Pavilion.
The Terps and Yellow Jackets are set to play Friday at 7 p.m. Maryland and Clemson is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Terps extended its all-time unbeaten streak against American with a 3-0 win over the Eagles at Bender Arena in Washington, D.C., Tuesday night. Ashleigh Crutcher had a match-high 14 kills and Amy Dion had a career-high 16 digs in the victory.
What's Next
The Terps close out their 2012 home slate and welcome Duke and Wake Forest to Comcast Pavilion. Maryland will face Wake Forest on Friday, Nov. 2 and take on Duke on Sunday, Nov. 4.

Scouting the Terps
The Terps are averaging 13.51 kills per set this season and 12.51 assists per set. Both averages rank fifth in the ACC.
Sophomores Ashleigh Crutcher and Adreené Elliott continue to be the Terps go-to hitters. Crutcher and Elliott rank one and two on the team with 292 kills and 230 kills, respectively. Crutcher is averaging 3.60 kills per set, which ranks third in the ACC, while Elliott ranks fifth in the ACC and 16th in the nation with a .397 hitting percentage.
Freshman Mackenzie Dagostino and senior Remy McBain continue to set up the Terrapin hitters. Dagostino is averaging a team-best 6.05 assists per set. McBain is right behind her with a 5.38 assist per set average.
Elliott has been the Terps strongest defensive presence along the net. Elliott has 87 total blocks on the season and is averaging 1.07 per set, which ranks ranks eighth in the conference.
Junior Sarah Harper anchors the backline and is averaging 3.84 digs per set.
Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers ranks sixth in the conference in hitting percentage (.227) and opponent hitting percentage (.182), and rank third in blocks per set (2.64) and service aces per set (1.31).
Sandra Adeleye is the Tigers top hitter. Adeleye has 257 kills on the season and ranks fifth in the ACC averaging 3.47 per set. While the total kills do not compare to Adeleye, Alexa Rand is an efficient hitter. Rand is 10th in the ACC with a .331 hitting percentage.
Hannah Brenner is Clemson's primary setter. Brenner is averaging 9.42 assists per set, which ranks sixth in the conference.
Kristin Faust and Serenat Yaz both rank in the top 10 in the ACC in service aces per set. Faust is fifth with 0.35 per set and Yaz is eighth with 0.28 per set.
Defensively, Rand ranks fourth in the league with 1.22 blocks per set. Natalie Patzin is the libero and ranks third in the ACC with 4.51 digs per set.
Scouting the Yellow Jackets
The Yellow Jackets rank as one of the most efficient offenses in the ACC. Georgia Tech is converting 26.2 percent of its attack opportunities. The Jackets also score a number of points off of their serve. They are averaging 1.85 service aces per set, which is the third-highest average in the nation and best in the ACC.
Monique Mead is one of only two hitters in the conference with over 300 kills. With 309 kills, Mead is averaging 3.86 per set, which ranks second in the ACC. Bailey Hunter teams with Mead to form a strong attacking duo. With the sixth-best average in the ACC, Hunter tallies 3.38 per set.
Joining Hunter and Mead, Annie Czarnecki is hitting .414 on the year. Her hitting percentage ranks fourth in the ACC and 11th nationally.
Kaleigh Colson is the primary setter for the Yellow Jackets. Colson averages 10.29 assists per set, which ranks third in the ACC.
Georgia Tech has three players that rank in the top six of the conference in services aces per set. Mead (0.54) and Colston (0.41) rank one and two in the ACC, respectively, while Hunter is sixth with a 0.34 per set average. Mead's per set average is the fourth-highest average in the country.
Series History
With a victory over Clemson in September, the Terps are now 28-35 all-time against the Tigers. Maryland's last home victory against Clemson came on Nov. 18, 2005, in four sets.
The Yellow Jackets hold a slight advantage over the Terps all-time. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series 28-26. Maryland last knocked off Georgia Tech on Oct. 23, 2010, and last beat the Jackets at home on Nov. 23, 2007.
Head Coach
Tim Horsmon
Tim Horsmon is in his fifth season in charge of the Maryland volleyball team. With the Terps' victory over Villanova on Aug. 24, Horsmon won his 50th career game at Maryland.
With Maryland's win over American on Tuesday, Horsmon now has 285 career wins.
Keep Setting Crutcher
Sophomore Ashleigh Crutcher totaled a career-high 26 kills against Virginia Tech on Sept. 28. It marked the most kills by a Terrapin since Jade Brown knocked down 27 kills against North Carolina on Nov. 25, 2006.
Running The Show
Freshman Mackenzie Dagostino took the reins as the primary setter against No. 12 Florida State (10/12) and No. 24 Miami (10/14) with senior Remy McBain serving primarily as a hitter.
Dagostino averaged 11.14 assists per set in the two matches and dished out a career-high 43 assists against No. 12 Florida State.
Terrapin Milestones
With 13 kills against Virginia on Sept. 30, senior Remy McBain eclipsed the 500 kill plateau for her career. McBain currently sits at 551 kills, which is the sixth-highest total for a Terp since 2007.
With 26 assists at Wake Forest on Oct. 6, McBain surpassed the 3,000 assist mark. The Leonia, N.J., native has 3,080 assists over her four years in College Park. She is only the fifth Terp all-time to eclipse 3,000 assists.
Junior Mary Cushman tallied one assisted block at NC State on Saturday to reach 100 career assisted blocks.
Honored Terps
The Terps wrapped up their pre-conference tournament schedule at LIU Brooklyn on Sept. 14-15. Sophomore Adreené Elliott came away with the highest honors. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native was voted the MVP of both the Villanova Classic and Blackbird Invitational as well as earning a spot on the Spring Hill Suites at Arundel Mills All-Tournament team.
At the Blackbird Invitational, Elliott tallied 31 kills and 23 total blocks including a career-high eight total blocks against St. John's. Elliott tied the mark with another eight total blocks against LIU Brooklyn the following night.
In three matches at the Spring Hill Suites at Arundel Mills Invitational, Elliott finished with 32 kills and a .419 hitting percentage. In the win over George Washington, Elliott had a career-high .619 hitting percentage.
Elliott took home MVP honors at the Villanova Classic to open the season. In three matches, she tallied 26 kills and 13 total blocks. Elliott finished the weekend with a .353 hitting percentage.
Junior Sarah Harper and freshman Kamrin Gold joined Elliott on the Villanova Classic All-Tournament team. Harper finished with 49 digs, while Gold tallied 18 kills including 11 against Robert Morris.
With 54 kills at the Maryland Invitational, sophomore Ashleigh Crutcher earned a spot on the Maryland Invitational All-Tournament team. Crutcher leads the Terps in kills with 158.
Junior Mary Cushman and Gold earned spots on the Blackbird Invitational All-Tournament team. In three matches, Cushman finished with 28 kills, 13 digs and six total blocks. Cushman had a season-high .480 hitting percentage against St. John's. Gold completed the weekend with 25 kills and 16 digs.
Record Watch
Sophomore Adreené Elliott is currently third all-time in career hitting percentage. Elliott is hitting .316 for her career. Rachel Wagener holds the all-time record with a .341 hitting percentage.
For the season, Elliott is converting 39.7 percent of her attack opportunities. On her current pace, Elliott would become Maryland's single-season hitting percentage record holder.
On the defensive side of the net, Elliott notched a solo block at NC State on Saturday to move into a tie for eighth all-time with Jaime Summers (52).
Junior Sarah Harper moved past Maria DiLivio (1,002) into eighth all-time in Maryland history in digs against LIU Brooklyn on Sept. 15. With 1,157 digs, Harper trails Bethany Springer by 47 digs for seventh all-time.
Senior Remy McBain ranks fifth in program history with 3,080 assists. She trails Aimee Huddleston by 490 assists for fourth all-time.
Fresh Faces
The Terps welcomed seven newcomers to the squad this season. The seven-member class was given highest honorable mention honors by PrepVolleyball.com.
So far this season, all seven freshmen have seen action for the Terps, which is the most in the ACC.
Mackenzie Dagostino and Kamrin Gold have been staples in the Terrapin attack. Dagostino is averaging 6.05 assists per set, while Gold is averaging 2.42 kills per set.
Emily Fraik totaled a career-high eight kills in the Terps' win over Virginia on Sept. 30.
