The Maryland volleyball team continues ACC play this weekend with two road matches at Duke and Wake Forest. The Terps and Blue Devils serve it up Friday at 7 p.m. Maryland concludes the road trip at Wake Forest on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Last Time Out
On Sunday, the Terps dispatched of Virginia in four sets. Sophomore Ashleigh Crutcher finished with her first double-double of the season. The Raleigh, N.C., native knocked down 18 kills and tallied a career-best 19 digs in the win. Senior Remy added a career-high 13 kills and sophomore Adreené Elliott continued her strong play with 11 kills on .400 hitting.
Friday night, Maryland dropped a thrilling five-set match against Virginia Tech. Crutcher tallied a career-high 26 kills against the Hokies, while freshman Mackenzie Dagostino added 27 assists and 17 digs.
What's Next
The Terps return home and welcome No. 13 Florida State and Miami to Comcast Pavilion next weekend.
The Terps take on the Hurricanes at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, and face the Seminoles on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Terps
The Terps enter the weekend winners of five of their last seven matches. The squad is fifth in the ACC in blocks (2.29 per set), digs (14.65 per set) and service aces (1.26 per set).
Sophomore Ashleigh Crutcher continues to be the offensive engine for the squad. Crutcher leads the team in kills (202) and attack attempts (482). Her 3.54 kills per set average ranks sixth in the ACC.
Crutcher is joined by sophomore Adreené Elliott along the front line. Elliott is second on the team in kills (156) and leads the team in total blocks (65) and solo blocks (20). Elliott's 1.14 blocks per set average is eighth best in the league. The native of Winston-Salem, N.C., has been highly efficient converting 40.3 percent of her attacking opportunities, which ranks sixth in the conference and 20th nationally.
Senior Remy McBain and freshman Mackenzie Dagostino continue to share setting duties. McBain is averaging 5.89 assists per set, while Dagostino is averaging 5.40 assists per set. With Dagostino, McBain has been provided the opportunity to attack more often and is averaging 1.72 kills per set.
Junior Sarah Harper continues to stand out along the backline. Harper leads the team in digs (220) and ranks eighth in the ACC with 3.86 digs per set.
Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke welcomes Maryland to Cameron Indoor in the midst of a five-match losing streak. Last weekend, the Blue Devils fell in four sets to No. 13 Florida State and Miami.
Despite its record, Duke ranks in the top half of the ACC in five statistical categories: assists (12.49 avg/s), blocks (2.29 avg/s), digs (16.86 avg/s), kills (13.66 avg/s) and opponent hitting percentage (.178).
The Blue Devils feature five players with over 100 kills led by Jeme Obeime (184) and Emily Sklar (154). Sklar ranks ninth in the ACC averaging 3.35 kills per set.
Kelsey Williams is the primary setter for the Blue Devils. The sophomore has dished out 297 assists and is ninth in the league with a 7.43 per set average.
Chelsea Cook leads the team with 69 total blocks and is ranked fifth in the ACC with a 1.17 per set average.
All-ACC performer, Ali McCurdy, anchors the backline. McCurdy averages 5.76 digs per set which leads the conference and ranks eighth nationally.
Scouting the Demon Deacons
The Demon Deacons head into Friday's match against Boston College on a five-match losing streak. Wake Forest ranks 10th in the ACC in assists (11.70 avg/s), hitting percentage (.205) and kills (12.41 avg/s), and ranks 11th in the conference in opponent hitting percentage (.223).
Andrea Beck, Anna Carley and Kylie Hargreaves all have over 400 attack attempts. Beck leads the team in kills (200) and hitting percentage (.331). Beck's 3.57 kills per set average is fifth best in the conference.
Danae Rosenthal handles the setting duties for the Demon Deacons. Rosenthal is averaging 9.89 assists per set, which is the fifth-best average in the ACC.
At libero, Megan Miller has totaled 221 digs and ranks ninth in the conference with a 3.77 per set average.
Series History
Duke has won 41 of 66 matches all-time against Maryland including both matchups last season. The Terps last win against the Blue Devils was a five-setter on Nov. 14, 2010 in College Park. Maryland's last win in Durham came on Sept. 26, 2003 in three sets.
Wake Forest won both meetings with Maryland last season, but the Terps lead the all-time series 23-18. The Terps last defeat of the Demon Deacons came on Nov. 12, 2010 in three sets at home. The squad's last road victory was also during the 2010 season. The Terps knocked off the Demon Deacons 3-2 on Sept. 30.
Head Coach
Tim Horsmon
Tim Horsmon is in his fifth season in charge of the Maryland volleyball team. With the Terps' victory over Villanova on Aug. 24, Horsmon won his 50th career game at Maryland.
With Maryland's win over Virgina on Sunday, Horsmon now has 284 career wins.
Keep Setting Crutcher
Sophomore Ashleigh Crutcher totaled a career-high 26 kills against Virginia Tech on Sept. 28. It marked the most kills by a Terrapin since Jade Brown knocked down 27 kills against North Carolina on Nov. 25, 2006.
Terrapin Milestones
With 13 kills against Virginia, senior Remy McBain eclipsed the 500 kill plateau for her career. McBain currently sits at 501 kills.
McBain is closing in on 3,000 career assists. The Leonia, N.J., native has 2,980 assists so far over her four years in College Park.
Sophomore Adreené Elliott is one solo block shy of 50 for her career. Elliott is currently averaging 1.14 blocks per set.
Junior Mary Cushman's next assisted block will be the 100th of her career.
Honored Terps
The Terps wrapped up their pre-conference tournament schedule at LIU Brooklyn on Sept. 14-15. Sophomore Adreené Elliott came away with the highest honors. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native was voted the MVP of both the Villanova Classic and Blackbird Invitational as well as earning a spot on the Spring Hill Suites at Arundel Mills All-Tournament team.
At the Blackbird Invitational, Elliott tallied 31 kills and 23 total blocks including a career-high eight total blocks against St. John's. Elliott tied the mark with another eight total blocks against LIU Brooklyn the following night.
In three matches at the Spring Hill Suites at Arundel Mills Invitational, Elliott finished with 32 kills and a .419 hitting percentage. In the win over George Washington, Elliott had a career-high .619 hitting percentage.
Elliott took home MVP honors at the Villanova Classic to open the season. In three matches, she tallied 26 kills and 13 total blocks. Elliott finished the weekend with a .353 hitting percentage.
Junior Sarah Harper and freshman Kamrin Gold joined Elliott on the Villanova Classic All-Tournament team. Harper finished with 49 digs, while Gold tallied 18 kills including 11 against Robert Morris.
With 54 kills at the Maryland Invitational, sophomore Ashleigh Crutcher earned a spot on the Maryland Invitational All-Tournament team. Crutcher leads the Terps in kills with 158.
Junior Mary Cushman and Gold earned spots on the Blackbird Invitational All-Tournament team. In three matches, Cushman finished with 28 kills, 13 digs and six total blocks. Cushman had a season-high .480 hitting percentage against St. John's. Gold completed the weekend with 25 kills and 16 digs.
Record Watch
Sophomore Adreené Elliott is currently No. 5 all-time in career hitting percentage. Elliott is hitting .304 for her career. Rachel Wagener holds the all-time record with a .341 hitting percentage.
For the season, Elliott is converting 40.3 percent of her attack opportunities. On her current pace, Elliott would become Maryland's single-season hitting percentage record holder.
On the defensive side of the net, Elliott is tied with Carey Brennan for 10th in program history with 49 career solo blocks.
Junior Sarah Harper moved past Maria DiLivio (1,002) into eighth all-time in Maryland history in digs against LIU Brooklyn on Sept. 15. With 1,066 digs, Harper trails Bethany Springer by 138 digs for seventh all-time.
Senior Remy McBain ranks fifth in program history with 2,980 assists. She trails Aimee Huddleston by 590 assists for fourth all-time.
Fresh Faces
The Terps welcomed seven newcomers to the squad this season. The seven-member class was given highest honorable mention honors by PrepVolleyball.com.
So far this season, all seven freshmen have seen action for the Terps, which is the most in the ACC.
Mackenzie Dagostino and Kamrin Gold have been staples in the Terrapin attack. Dagostino is averaging 5.40 assists per set, while Gold is averaging 2.42 kills per set.
Emily Fraik totaled a career-high eight kills in the Terps' win over Virginia on Sept. 30.
